Let's get together to talk about school age childcare

Local Networking and Information Sessions- November 2023

It's been a while, but we are looking forward to meeting you in person: this November we are holding a series of networking and information sessions across Scotland. Come chat with some of the SOSCN team: Irene Audain, SOSCN CEO; Andrew Shoolbread, Policy and Research Manager, and Patrick Morrison, Training and Development Officer will be in attendance.

All sessions will be held from 10am - 12.30pm, and refreshments will be provided at break time. CPL certificates will be provided.

£15 (per person) fee towards supporting event costs

These events have been developed with input from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) about information on benefits and initiatives to parents about how to pay for childcare. The Scottish Government School Age Childcare team will talk about the recently published Framework and Children’s Charter, and how school age childcare providers can participate in the next stage of the co-design process in the school age childcare expansion commitment.

We shall also be looking at different recruitment strategies to try and attract new people into the school age workforce.

There will be opportunities to ask questions, share concerns, meet new colleagues and gain new knowledge and insight in ways of supporting your staff, children and parents.

SOSCN is pleased that we are currently still able to provide free membership (and associated information and support) due to grant funding through Scottish Government, however, we are no longer able to offer free events and so must charge a basic fee to help cover the costs. We trust you understand.
