Area Manager (Children's Services)

Established in 1960 as a registered charity, Cumbernauld YMCA-YWCA is an award winning organisation. We have an excellent track record for developing and delivering quality services and programmes for children, young people and families.

We are currently recruiting for an Area Manager for Our Peace of Mind for Parents out of school care service. Established in 1989 it it one of the largest childcare provisions in Scotland. As part of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering peripatetic management support to local services. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward looking organisation that values and invests in its staff teams. Applicant should have good communication, team leadership and organisational skills. Experience of working with children or young people and a sound knowledge of current legislative requirements in relation to children's services is also essential.

Applicants will hold or be working towards PDA (Level 9) or BA in Childhood Practice.

Own transport essential.

Childcare Assistants

Cumbernauld YMCA is excited to announce vacancies for Childcare Assistants within their POMP (peace of mind for parents) Out of School Care Service. We are currently undergoing a period of organisational change and are seeking to recruit experienced and motivated Childcare Assistants to help support the association through this period of change in order to ensure high standards of practice, maintaining a safe and caring environment and provide opportunities for all children in our care, encouraging creativity and ensuring a reasonable degree of choice. Duties involve working with children aged between 5-14 years. Planning for and providing a stimulating and varied programme of indoor/outdoor activities and games. Preparation and cleaning up of activities/areas. Ensuring precautions are taken with regard to the children's and staffs Health & Safety. Taking children to and or collecting them from school as necessary. Successful applicant will be required to provide an enhanced disclosure/PVG (initial cost will be met by employer)

Hours: Monday to Friday 3-6pm + 1 hr = 16 hours per week

Qualification & experience desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Wages - £8.29+ p/h

Assistant Team Leader

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Team Leader for our busy Peace of Mind for Parents out of school care service, in Lenziemoss Established in 1989 it is one of the largest childcare provisions in Scotland. As part of the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Base Team Leader delivering a quality service. Applicant should have good communication, team leadership and organisational skills. Experience of working with children or young people and a sound knowledge of current legislative requirements in relation to children's services is also essential.

Main Duties:

  • Assisting Base Manager and providing effective day to day management of the base in line with national Care Standards.
  • Support and supervision of childcare staff.
  • Creating and maintaining a warm caring child centred care environment.

Applicants will hold or be working towards PDA (Level 9) or BA in Childhood Practice.

Contract Hours: 23.5 hr per week. Monday to Friday 7.30-9.00am & 3pm-6pm (Service Delivery) + Tuesdays 10am – 1pm (Administration Duties)

Driver

We are currently recruiting for a Driver. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward looking organisation that values and invests in its staff teams.

Duties would include:

  • Routine maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles.
  • Carry out proper vehicle checks prior to use.
  • Proper adherence to Health & Safety – passengers pick up/drop off.
  • Collection/dropping of children and/or adults, as designated by the needs of the Childcare Services and Association programmes.
  • Other transport requirements as designated from time to time.

Successful applicant will require a clean full driving licence along will an enhanced Disclosure/PVG.

Hours: Normally Mon-Fri 2.30-4.30pm (10hrs per week)
