Lead Practitioner

This position has an option just to work term time only

Skool Is Out are a busy and vibrant After School Club, based in the Bruntsfield area of Edinburgh. We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Practitioner.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic, organised, and motivated individual to lead one of our 2 After School Care provisions. The right candidate will have proven supervisory experience and an excellent knowledge of Government initiatives, guidelines, and child development theory.

Candidates must be qualified to a minimum of SVQ Level 4 in childcare and be willing to work towards the degree qualification to give them unconditional registration with the SSSC as Lead Practitioner.

Must have at least 2 years' experience of working with children preferably experience of working in a senior role. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check and be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council or GTC.

Term - time only contract

Hours of work: 31.25 hours per week with hours split across the week as follows:

Monday: 10.15am to 6.15pm

Tuesday to Thursday: 12.30 to 6.15pm

Friday: 11.00am to 6pm

In addition, 5 in-service days throughout the school year hours: 8.75 hours per day

Term time and school holiday contract

Monday to Friday: Hours of work: 8.75 hours per day

Salary: £13.65 per hour

As above term time but only working 2 in-service days throughout the school year. In addition you will be expected to lead 4.5 weeks of School holidays split across the year; February or October, Easter and Summer. We are closed for the full Christmas holidays. All holiday hours are mutually worked out with the Childcare Manager of our P1 - P3 venue.

COVID-19 considerations:

All staff and parents are required to wear face coverings. Parents currently not permitted into our venues. Collection of children during term time takes place outside the setting. Enhanced cleaning of all areas. Currently children are kept within their class bubble groups but guidelines may change in new school session.

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT / PROFESSIONAL REVIEW

All staff are required to participate in appropriate programmes of continuing professional development and undergo professional review as set out in Skool Is Out policies.
