Club Manager

Job Title: Club Manager

Line Manager: ELOSCN Assistant Manager

Hours of work: Monday - Friday (30 hours per week)

Organisational Structure

Reporting to Senior Management Team, the post holder will be responsible for the day to day smooth running of the club they are responsible for managing.

The role will be supported by play practitioners and support workers. The Senior Management Team will provide financial assistance, training and developmental opportunities. An independent Human Resources company will provide professional advice where necessary.

Role Purpose

The key purpose of the role is to manage the appointed care setting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Operational Excellence
  • vSupported by the SMT organise and record up to date registers of attendance.
  • Practice full understanding of the Care Inspectorate Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of conduct and legislations.
  • Maximise (in liaison with the SMT) the numbers of children attending the setting.
  • Ensure the safe collection and transportation of children between the school and club.
  • Continue to implement the use of Deputy for payroll and leave entitlements.
  • Manage the overall administration of the setting, keeping relevant records and ensuring that the agreed club procedures are implemented.
  • In consultation with other staff, plan a varied programme of activities suitable to the needs of the young people.
  • Actively attend club managers meetings.
  • Maintain good working relationships with other clubs as well as third-party organisations and agencies.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure that all staff are apprised with the latest information and have a 'Voice'.
Stakeholder Excellence
  • Identify and develop partnerships internally and throughout the community.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for any approaches regarding to the out of school club setting from parents, school staff or any other interested parties.
  • Establish a strong relationship with the Care Inspectorate by demonstrating sound knowledge of childcare within an out of school club setting.
  • Use initiative and follow up on enquiries from parents or guardians.
Financial Excellence
  • Promote and manage the activities which strengthen the relationships between potential funders and ELOSCN.
  • Purchase resources, as necessary, within agreed budget with the SMT and keeping appropriate financial records.
  • Produce, maintain and distribute, as appropriate, literature and other content that facilitates fundraising ideas.
Developmental Excellence
  • Maintain your own SSSC registration, annual renewal and demonstrate substantial CPD hours on your online PRTL.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss team developmental needs.
  • Engage in continual personal development for staff in the setting.
  • Liaise with the SMT & HR to ensure that all staff are supported in their developmental needs.
  • Implement, in collaboration and under the leadership of the SMT, a simple and engaging way to empower the staff in each setting.
  • Act as a role model, coaching entry level staff through their qualifications.
  • Develop and maintain warm relationships with members of the local community.
Key Working Relationships

The post holder will require significant working engagement with a wide range of stakeholders, including, but not limited to:

  • Care Inspectorate
  • Local Authorities
  • Scottish Social Services Council
  • Q Train
  • Demonstrable track record in childcare management, ideally in the out of school club sector.
  • Effective verbal communications and experience in a customer facing sector.
  • Excellent written communication, networking, social and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent time management, organisation and administrative skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate by example the company’s calibre with pride in personal appearance and professional practice.
