Bervie Kids Club is a charity based Out of School Care provision which was established in 2024. Bervie Kids Club provides Breakfast, After school and holiday provision. The aim of Bervie Kids Club is to provide a happy and safe environment for children, whilst accessing learning experiences suited to their individual and group needs, promoting healthy and educational activities.

Job Description

Location: Bervie School, Church Street, Inverbervie

Contract type: Staff, permanent

Hours of work: 22.5 hours a week term time: Monday to Friday 7.30am-9am and 2.45pm-5.45pm. Holiday cover: 8am to 5.30m, Monday to Friday on the first week of the April and October school holidays and the first four weeks of the summer holidays.

Bervie Kids Club are looking for an outgoing and fun individual to join the team. Assist in the provision of a high quality out of school care service in line with Care Inspectorate Regulations and guidelines.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Qualifications, Training and Skills

This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment. A condition of the registration to SSSC, the candidate must gain one of the following Practice qualifications, you will have 3 years to achieve the qualification.

Practice qualification
  • HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 or
  • SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 7

It is preferable the candidate has the following, however training will be provided: First Aid, Manual Handling and Food Hygiene, however training can be provided.First Aid, Child Protection, Food Hygiene/Allergy Awareness, Infection Prevention & Control, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness/Safety, GIRFEC, Duty of Candour.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.

Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.

A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
